Deer Hunter's Widow Week-End

So, its just the kids and I from Saturday morning at 4:00 a.m. to Wednesday- sometime! It's the favorite time of the year when Jason gets to become one with nature and try his hand again in the deer archery season. He got his first deer during archery last year and he is hoping to try and get another one this year. Our freezer still contains deer meat from last year and he is really hoping to add to it! I have to admit that vension is not my favorite, but it works out really well for Jason when he comes home from work and he is the only one in the mood for some meat! I tell him to go ahead!! He has made some really good jerky though that most everyone likes when they try it and they still like it after he tells them it is deer meat. This is still an adjustment for me because when I was dating him and even after I married him-- he was NOT a hunter. Now he hunts deer, turkey, havalina (wild pigs), and whatever else he can. It seems there is always something for him to be hunting, no matter what time of the year it is! I really don't know what changed him-- but I know he loves it and he has fun. So, the next few days consist of the kids and I fending for ourselves!! I'll keep you posted how his hunt went!!

Ryan Clay at 3 Months!!

I can't believe my baby is already three months old!! Time goes by so fast! Ryan is such a happy baby! He loves to talk and coo whenever you give him attention. He loves to eat his fist and fingers and he can almost put his whole fist in his mouth!! He loves to be outside and watch the trees. Last night he went to bed at 9:00p.m. and slept until 7:20 a.m. Today I was able to see him reaching out with his little fist and grabbing at things! I'm so glad that I'm not working so I can see all of his little firsts!!

Megan's First Day of Pre-School

Megan was up and ready to go on her first day of pre-school!! She picked out her new Tinkerbell backpack and mom put her name on it.

When we pulled up to her school, Miss. Julie's house, Megan said, "Mom, I have flutterflies in my stomach!" I told her it was ok and that she was going to have a great first day and sure enough-- she did!!

First Week Of Not Working

Well, school started last week and it was weird and great to not have to go back!! Megan, Ryan, and I are finding things to keep us busy like storytime at the library, swimming, and a little shopping!! It's an adjustment being home and not working, but I'm loving it!! Jason is actually getting home-cooked meals now on a regular basis!! It's weird how when I was working I was out of the house by 7:00 every morning and now it is a challenge for me to have the kids out the door by 9:00!!
